How to get to Haida Gwaii

    Flying is the most direct method. From Vancouver, you can take a flight with Air Canada to Sandspit on Moresby Island or with Pacific Coastal Airlines to Masset on Graham Island. These flights offer a quick and convenient way to reach Haida Gwaii, reducing travel time significantly.

    If you prefer a scenic route, you can take a ferry from Prince Rupert. BC Ferries operates a service to Skidegate on Graham Island, with the journey taking approximately 6-8 hours.

    I have had the opportunity to fish with a number of guides in the coastal waters of BC. Danny Escott is absolutely fantastic and is the best of the best.

    Danny's boat is very comfortable, and he has top of the line equipment (Sage rods, Islander reels etc). As a surgeon I appreciate the excellent organization, the cleanliness, the efficiency, and the fact that he is the first person on the dock every morning. The results speak for themselves: we hooked into and landed a ton of fish.

    Beyond that Danny is a great guy to spend days on the water with. He is the consummate host, funny, and outgoing.

    I look forward to returning to Massett next summer to fish with Danny again.

  • Pack light and bring just the essentials for your 2, 3, or 4-day trip. I've got you covered with two-piece safety Mustang suits, rain boots, and all the fishing tackle and bait you’ll need. This means you can focus on enjoying your adventure without worrying about gear. You only need to take care of purchasing your fishing license online before the trip. Once that's done, you're all set for a fantastic fishing experience!

  • The best season to fish in Haida Gwaii is from May 15 to September 15. During these months, the waters are abundant with a variety of fish, making it the perfect time for an unforgettable fishing adventure. Whether you're targeting Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Halibut, or Ling Cod, this period will be the most rewarding for your fishing endeavours.

  • The best way to get here is to fly with Pacific Coastal Airlines from Vancouver to Masset. Alternatively, you can fly with Air Canada to Sandspit and then drive to Masset, or take BC Ferries from Prince Rupert to Skidegate and drive from there.

  • Our waters are teeming with prized catches, including Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Halibut, and Ling Cod. These species offer thrilling fishing experiences and are sure to make your trip unforgettable.
